Greetings and welcome to my blog! I am an artist and surface pattern designer with a formal art background and many years as an abstract artist under my belt. But I LOVE being a designer now, it OPENS me to all images, patterns, and colors, rather than narrowing my aesthetic to only what will solve the specific problems in a body of work of paintings.
I also love to network and share information, so please take a look through my links, and feel free to pass on anything of interest!
Though I spent the first half of my life on the east coast of the US, I spent 7 years living in Asia and I currently live in San Francisco, where I LOVE the weather, the ocean, the redwoods, and the culture.
My design influence comes from all the fabrics and papers I have seen and touched, all the artists, designer and quilter friends who have shared their passions, and the design aesthetics of France and Japan, where I lived and studied Japanese sumi-e and calligraphy. So, the closest thing to a description of my style of design is contemporary Japanese French fusion. Basically just about anything goes….
Thank you for visiting my blog and don’t forget to always keep looking for things that inspire you!

Hello,
We are about to print banners for Surtex, and see that you have vivid, colorful, design heavy banners in this post. Were you happy with the company that did them, or did you do them yourself? If you were willing to share, and if applicable, let us know who did the work if you hired it out, we’d greatly appreciate it. We’re looking at a couple of places, and know that the job done will reflect heavily on the work, so naturally, want it to be good!
Thank you for your time,
allison
